ProjectBrood devlog 2: Version 0.4.0
Project Brood v0.4.0 » Devlog
It finally happened, I set a time where something would be done and it wasn't late for once
New Features:
- Rhodia is now available as a surrogate, she is hirable just like Luci
- Some minor fixes
This is not as abig of an update as last time as I figured that to not have people lose interest of the game, perhaps more frequent, smaller updates are better than big ones that take longer time? Not sure how long that will keep up but I'll go for it untill it stops working.
What I'm I working on right now:
- Updating the Lab: Adding the extra tech hinted on last devlog, The actuall, features shouldn't take too long, but Its something that might be changed over time
- Adding Activites: This is taking most of the time right now as it icludes tonnes of writing and illustating (Imagine every stage of the pregnancy having an illustation, text, effect on the game, and do that three times for each surrogate, and you can see why some of the updates take time), But I've mde quite a bit of progress for the Exersie activity so hopefully that should be ready soon rather than later.
- Experimenting with 3D: Not an announcement per say or anything like that, mostly just epxerimenting to see if there might be potential in having this being a 2d game over a 2d one, I still like the 2d aspect currently but it does limit some potential mechanics and features
- Setting up for longetivty: While I enjoy making the game, It's not really anything that keeps the lights on sadly. I have been considering setting up some kind of Patreon/Kofi or similar but before I've been unsure if the game warrants it. Note that don't feel pressured pay if you can't/don't want to! The game will remain free and I have no plans of changing that. This is mostly as a way for me to justify spending more time making the game and provide something fun in return to those who help me, How that will look like I've not really finalised yet but I've got some fun ideas.
Thats all I think for now, Happy Holidays!

Tengo duda de las demás actividades¿Seram la siguiente actualización?
Hey froggerest, I've got a question. I asked about the windows problem about two months ago, where it would display the godot logo then go to a black screen and the window would say "Project Brood (DEBUG)". I downloaded the new version (thanks for the updates! They look good) but I'm running into the same issue. I tried finding solutions and a lot of them kept saying to check .pck and .cfg files. And a lack of said files could mean it was packaged incorrectly or runs with its on pck file. I only see the EXE so I was wondering if maybe the files were packaged incorrectly? I also got the command prompt to say something and it mentioned a missing texture. I just clicked randomly on the black screen and the command manager all of a sudden said a texture was missing. Maybe this was the issue? I'd appreciate any help but if nothing can be done I can always use the web version. Thanks again!
Hmm, could be possible that I packaged it incorrectly, Ill take a look on that this weekend
I just tried downloading it on a different computer and it works fine. it still says "projectbrood (DEBUG)" but its working. It must be my other computer thats having the issue. Thanks for looking into it anyway! Have a good weekend and merry chirstmas.
